TONGUE TIED TEA

Tongue Tied Tea is a brand for a beverage company that sells tea, like chai, gray, and earl.

Most big corporations put quantity before quality, so not all those teas taste the best that they can. Tongue Tied Tea stands out because they put their bold flavor before anything else.

ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN

For this project I created a logo for a tea brand and a can design. I also made motion graphic social ads, guerilla advertisement, a billboard, and a vehicle wrap.

Tongue Tied Tea’s target audience are movie lovers. The brand and campaign I wanted hard contrasts and cinematic themed graphics.

On every can there is a tongue twister
on the top, so the viewer can interact with the brand and do something brain working while drinking.

We wanted to spotlight the brand rather than the tea flavor because the brand hasn’t gotten a lot of spotlight, and we want the viewer to boldly know who is making this amazing tea.

CAN LABEL

IF PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT, AND PERFECT NEEDS PRACTICE, I'M PERFECTLY PRACTICED, AND PRACTICALLY PERFECT.

IF PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT, AND PERFECT NEEDS PRACTICE, I'M PERFECTLY PRACTICED, AND PRACTICALLY PERFECT.

BILLBOARD

On the billboard we wanted to have something bold yet simple. Something clearly repeating itself, beautifully displayed. As you are driving you might only be able to read the first line, but you might say “why the heck is there a billboard talking about benevolent elephants” and in it of itself you get to work your brain every day on the way to work, etc.

GUERILLA ADVERTISEMENT

For my print ad I wanted to make it seem like a movie poster, since the target audience would be at the movies a lot. Small text describes the tea and that you can purchase it inside.

I wanted to make it blend in as a regular movie poster, but as you read it you will realize it is not actually a movie poster but an ad. The full sized ad is below.

SOCIAL ADS

These social ads were fun to make, but I didn’t get the vibe all the way right. I wanted my ads more cinematic and foreboding, but with the limited music choices (I had to find a copyright free song) It was down to the older movie music.

Both ads have a hashtag that is #TongueTiedTest. This would be a hashtag for the consumer to record themself trying the tongue twister while drinking the tea. That way we would get advertisement, and viewer interactivity.
